Love, from near and far – the story of Madeiral

Having a pet requires love, responsibility and respect for life. Our pet is under our supervision and control and therefore they requires our responsibility. Like us, an animal can get ill, feel pain and get sad. For this reason, we chose the name ``SIMABO´´ (translated: like you) for our organization.

This is the story of Maderals, a dog that lived in the countryside, in conditions depicted below. She didn’t have any water available and rarely ate anything else than chicken food (mixed with milk). She also suffered from chronic gastroenteritis. The last time she gave birth, she ate her litter. Nature is wise. The mother didn’t want her puppies to live in the same conditions.

Two volunteers, Giulia (vet) and Marta (vet student) found Maderal and brought her to our shelter, where she recovered.

To ensure that she can stay in our shelter, Giulia and Marta regularly send us a financial contribution to her living costs.

SIMABÔ is grateful for the support these two volunteers gave and have been giving to us, from near and far.
